Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I woke up Monday morning to turn on the network blues to yet another horrific church shooting. But this one has even a greater horror to it for me. Church members armed and shooting back. I’m sure these men have been hailed as heroes, but as Christians, who or what is our protection? Is it God or guns?

Talking with a friend that afternoon, she told me her church has an armed security team. The Book of Revelation tells of a coming time when multitudes of Christians will be killed because of their faith and all the guns and security teams you can count won’t prevent this mass genocide. Revelation 6:9/7:9-14.

Perhaps we should put Psalm 91 on a plaque above the door. Are we followers of Jesus? When facing the threat of being killed, He told His disciples all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Do you not think I cannot call on my Father and He will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? Matthew 26:52-53.
