Letter: In the blink of an eye

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

A friend recently told me that once your children get to middle school, the years will pass quickly and upon hitting high school it will be a blur. So far I’ve discovered this is not too far from the truth. I am in good company with the many moms of the Class of 2020 as our children head to Mathews High School and the moms of the Class of 2016 as their children graduate. 

We will sit with tissues in hand as we watch our once kindergartners, just a blink ago, make this transition. It seems like just yesterday I was a “celebrity” elementary mom at all the school events. Now my two can’t get out of the car fast enough at the student drop-off area. The cell phones get more hugs than I do!
