Editor, Gazette-Journal:
How soon we forget. There is a saying, “Those who choose not to remember the past are doomed to repeat it.” Teresa Altemus has announced her intention to run for the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors, either as the Republican candidate or as an independent. If she wins, we, the citizens of Gloucester, lose.
Remember, she was voted out of office by a nearly 80 percent margin because of her antics while she was on the board. If you are having trouble remembering her history, search the archives of the local newspapers and you will get an eyeful. They say a leopard never changes its spots. She says she would be a “steward” for the taxpayers. However, the last time she was in office, her actions cost the taxpayers over $100,000. Although I do not live in the Gloucester Point district, all citizens of Gloucester will be affected if she is reelected to the board. Therefore, I am urging all my friends in the Gloucester Point district to vote for Chris Hutson at the Republican Mass Meeting at the Achilles School on April 30 at 7 p.m. and again this November in the general election.
