Letter: Honoring the dedication of teachers

On behalf of the American Legion Auxiliary Gloucester Unit 75, we would like to extend our deepest appreciation to our Gloucester County teachers. In April, Teacher Appreciation Month, we had the opportunity to celebrate teachers and convey to our teaching professionals, our utmost appreciation for their dedication.

From the time a child starts kindergarten until the time he/she graduates from high school, a student will have spent over 8,000 hours being instructed by more than 15 teachers. If it were not for the dedication of these teachers, our children would not learn all the things they need to know that enable them to succeed in college and in life when it comes time for them to get out in the “real world” and begin their careers.

Teachers are a huge part of their learning to become proud and productive citizens of our great country and their efforts to brighten our nation’s future are not lost on any one of us. We acknowledge that it ...
