Editor, Gazette-Journal:It is with great pleasure that I recommend Linda Hodges to continue her service to the Mathews community as a member of the school board. Linda has served with integrity in the past and will continue to bring her vast experience as an educator, parent, and community leader to the board. I can think of no one that I worked with during my eight-year tenure as principal of Mathews High School that is concerned more for the well-being of the students of Mathews than Linda.As the Mathews community prepares for the challenges facing public education in the coming years, the board must be composed of citizens who understand Mathews, understand education, but most importantly, understand students and their needs. Linda Hodges, with her vast knowledge and experience, has demonstrated that she meets and exceeds the criteria as a school board member.
