Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I am writing to writing to express my support of Linda G. Hodges for Mathews County School Board. Even though I am no longer living in the area, I remain close to many of the people who do reside in Mathews and I will always be concerned about the quality of education in a school division that I spent eight years as a principal.

Linda worked under my direct supervision for five years. During her tenure, she proved to be the consummate professional. Never did Linda allow personal relationships to interfere with her ability to make decisions that were in the best interest of the entire school. This accomplishment was even more laudable considering her daughter was a four-year student at Mathews High School.

Linda is fair and unbiased in her approach to policy and she possesses the wisdom and first-hand knowledge of how board policy affects students, parents, and teachers at the school and county levels. Mathews County would be fortunate to have someone wi...
