Letter: Highlighting a few outstanding volunteers

The Department of Community Engagement “Celebrates Service” during National Volunteer Week (April 15-21) by highlighting just a few of the hundreds of special people giving of themselves and their service to our schools.

While we can only shine a spotlight on a few, the wonderful people below are representative of so many, many others who dedicate themselves to helping our schools and students. Please join us in celebrating the service of all Gloucester volunteers, young and old, and recognizing these exemplary examples.

William (Bill) Dean is dedicated to keeping the Botetourt Elementary School Book Room organized! Mr. Dean has spent over 145 hours this year shelving, labeling, and sorting books that are available to classroom teachers to supplement their lessons and reading groups. Thanks to Mr. Dean, our Bulldogs are able to read a wonderful variety of books!
