Editor, Gazette-Journal:

When you walk through the doors of Ware Academy one thing is for certain: you’re going to meet Dawn Fleet.

She wears many hats at our school. If she sees a need, she strives to meet it. You may find her teaching math, distributing lunches, giving tours to prospective families, staying after for homework club, tutoring a child or observing a classroom.

Are all of these things her responsibility as the Academic Dean and Director of Enrollment? No, but she does them anyway. If you ask her why, she’ll tell you, “It is for the children.” Her dedication to the school is unmatched. She is well-known as a trusted advocate among students, parents and faculty.

Between her incredible work ethic, education and years of experience she was an obvious candidate for Interim Head of School for the 2019-2020 school year. To overlook her contributions would be a huge disservice to the school and the families enrolled here. We’re looking forward t...
