Letter: Helping meet the needs of Gloucester seniors

On Sept. 21, for the fourth year in a row, the S.A.L.T. Council (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) hosted the Senior Safety Fair at Newington Baptist Church. This was an informative and fun-filled day with speakers and exhibitors who were all selected with the cares and concerns of our senior citizens in mind. I am happy to report that the fair was a great success, in spite of the wet weather! This year we had a record number pre-register and come out for the event.

The council is made up of citizens and stakeholders from the community who have committed to work together to enhance the quality of life for our older citizens. We hope to heighten awareness and focus efforts in mobilizing community resources to better meet the needs of our seniors.
