Letter: Hedrick for supervisor

I was excited to learn that my friend Mike Hedrick is running for the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors. You should be too.

Mike and I retired from the same company after a long career. Like Mike is doing in Gloucester, after my retirement in 2011 I chose to run for the Goochland County Board of Supervisors. Goochland was headed in the wrong direction with a looming debt that threatened to bankrupt the entire county.

The citizens elected a whole new board of supervisors and school board. I was one of those elected. Since then, two boards with no political, only business and life experience, have been working hard to improve the county. We are now the smallest county in the nation with two Triple A bond ratings. Our schools, which were heading in the wrong direction, are now number one in the region and that’s not counting our football team.
