The Big, Beautiful Bill or the Big Break for Billionaires? Who benefits most from this gargantuan bill? You and I? Not likely. The top 10 percent will see 80 percent of the benefits. This continues the trend started by Reagan of moving wealth from the bottom to the top. Between 1981 and 2021, more than $50 trillion has moved from the bottom 90 percent to the top 1 percent. The last time income disparity was this great was just before the Great Depression.
This Budget Busting Bill increases the deficit by $3.4 trillion over the next 10 years while also raising the debt ceiling by $5 trillion. What happened to Republicans being fiscal conservatives? Many Republican House and Senate members balked at this bill, specifically because of the huge increase in the deficit but once Trump threatened to primary them, almost all fell in line. Is this really how we want our politicians to behave? “Do as I say or else!” How different is this from authoritarianism or a dictat...
