Letter: Growing the deficit

As your readers may recall, I have recently written letters to the editor concerning Representative Wittman’s recent voting record that has seriously impacted our national debt and impacted the cost for you and me, our children and our grandchildren.

Last week he, and the Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, passed another bill (HR 6760) that will increase the national deficit by another $631 billion through 2029. This is in addition to the $2.3 trillion increase in the deficit passed via the “2017 Tax Bill” and the “2018 Appropriations Bill” bringing the total increases in the national debt this year alone to nearly $3 trillion.  

Previous Congresses have passed unbalanced budgets leading to our current $21 trillion deficit balance, but Representative Wittman, on this issue, is clearly unrepresentative of a deficit conservative Republican, unconcerned about the burden we taxpayers must now bear an...
