Editor, Gazette-Journal: In reference to the April 9 Gazette-Journal article, “Cobbs Creek resident sees first-hand the result of ICE arrests.” After reading the article, I asked what can I do to help? As Terry said, she received lots of comments of anger, sadness, and people asking, “What can I do to help?” I was told donations are accepted, and I thought a Letter to the Editor might help, just to know we care and are aware and grateful for volunteers like Terry. After reading the article several times I learned our own police stopped working legal men and turned them over to ICE for minor events. I later learned a judge would determine they posed no threat to society, as many were here legally. That’s where the volunteers help them get back home to their families. This does my heart good.
