Letter: Government should stay out of health decisions

America has the best health care in the world. We have the best medical schools, the best doctors, best medicine, the best hospitals. This has resulted in Americans living longer with an extended life. This creates a big problem for big government. The old folks cost billions of our tax dollars to keep them living.

One part of the Obama health care aims to take care of this expense. The danger bill is already passed and goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2013. This is the danger of big government when it becomes arrogant, violent, obtrusive and insensitive to human life. The law states that individual payment advisory boards will be formed to say whether or not a patient can get life-saving treatment. This puts the government between the doctor and patient. While waiting for the board, the patient may die.

When the patient dies, the government wins. Medicare/Medicaid costs stop, so does Social Security and medicine and doctor visits. As the old people are kill...
