Last week, the GOP-controlled House of Representatives and our local Republican contingent—Wittman, Rigell and Forbes—voted to weaken the Dodd-Frank financial regulation law which was designed to promote the financial stability of the United States and protect American taxpayers. Our local guys then helped the House GOP reject an opportunity to allow Dodd-Frank to protect pensions of first responders and teachers and to protect U.S. firms from foreign takeover. Then they voted to repeal Obamacare for about the 38th time for no other reason than to give any new members a chance to vote against it so they could use that anti-patient vote in their next campaigns.

So this is your GOP elected officials at work. Their goal appears to be to protect party ideology and support the interests of big-money contributors, but let their constituents fend for themselves. Party first, people later—or not at all.
