Letter: God and country

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

In America, God and country were joined together by those who fought long and hard for our nation to exist. “Religion” was not made part of our Constitution, but God was. And how we worship Him or don’t worship is up to each individual.

These freedoms we have are unique and we will keep them only if we end so-called political correctness, which is a form of silencing used by those who either ignore or wish to change our Constitution. We have always had to fight to keep America on track, strong and following the wisdom that formed us.

A columnist during World War II said some things that were not only timely, but also true and need to be said over and over again. He wrote:

“America needs a general disposition to rate the Ten Commandments as more important than any Eleven Radio Talks; immediate agreement on the meaning of free speech; a drive to convince the youth of America that the defense problem would be helped immeasurably if they...
