On Saturday, June 1, our community gathered for Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society’s fourth annual Family Fun Day. While the day began as a rainy one, the morning’s weather dampened neither the spirits of those who worked to make the event a success nor event attendees. GMHS appreciates the support of the communities comprising our service region, and we enjoyed hosting guests for a celebration of the many partnerships that make our life-saving work possible.

The day’s event also offered the opportunity to thank the many businesses who champion our mission with the Humane Business Awards. Recipients from as far away as Texas and as near as our own Gloucester Court House received awards, and GMHS is grateful for their contributions throughout the past year.
