Each year just before the Daffodil Festival, the Gloucester Clean Community Committee sponsors Clean Gloucester Day. One purpose of the festival is to remind visitors of the beauty and the history that marks the uniqueness of Gloucester County. But much of this impact is greatly lessened by the yahoos that pollute our highways and scenic backroads with their trash (How many of you have seen the three mattresses discarded on T.C. Walker Road?).
Thanks are owed to the Gazette-Journal for their editorial and news articles publicizing the cleanup on March 19. Thanks are also owed to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, Phillips Energy, Peninsula Heating and Air, the Lighthouse Worship Center, L.U. Pearce Custom Building, Trailer World, Walgreens and Bobby’s Auto Service for including a reminder of the cleanup on their electronic signs. And finally, thank you to all of the businesses who allowed our flyers to be posted on their premises.
