Letter: Gloucester needs a CPA

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Gloucester County needs a new treasurer—and that would be Penny Kemp Smith. I recently met her and she explained her fresh ideas and new perspectives for the office. Her campaign materials and professionalism show that she supports twice-monthly pay for all county/school employees, create an internet portal for property owners, and provide more transparency for the office.  She is willing to listen to the citizens of Gloucester County. Penny Smith has a master’s degree in taxation and is a certified public accountant (CPA).

When I looked at her opponent’s rack card and watched her Facebook video, neither one describes her education, what she had accomplished in the past 19 years as treasurer, or what she plans to accomplish. I am very disturbed by this.
