Letter: Give the candidates equal coverage

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Midterm election time is almost here. The candidates for U.S. Senate are spending money on their television ads and are campaigning throughout the region. The Gazette-Journal and Daily Press are reporting on the candidates’ events.

We all understand that both of these newspapers lean to the left and are liberal in their views. If you will notice, twice as much attention—articles and/or pictures—is dedicated to Mark Warner, and very few to Ed Gillespie. I feel sure that both of these candidates have political strengths as well as weaknesses. Just remember that Mark Warner is in Barrack Obama’s back pocket, having voted with Obama on issues 97 percent of the time. We don’t need another “Obama-thinking politician” in government!

Let’s be fair, newspapers: Give each candidate fair and equal coverage.
