Letter: Give the bill a chance

Editor, Gazette-Journal:
(I) Certainly respect everyone’s opinion when it comes to politics. I’m certainly not a huge Trump fan, but he does get things done. Rob Wittman has been our Congressman for nearly 20 years. When Jo Ann Davis died, he quickly followed those before him, Tom Downing, Paul Trible and Herb Bateman.
He has always stood up for the citizens he represented. I’ve seen him down the shipyard gates numerous mornings at 5 a.m. asking for support. He has certainly been a voice for defense on the Armed Services Committee.
Just recently his staff helped me with a tax/IRS issue. They jumped on my inquiry and it was resolved. He helped with another situation a few years ago. He cares about the people of the 1st District.
For those knocking the recent tax bill, give it a chance. I think when all is said and done, it will help Americans greatly. We all need to respect each other and get along despite our political differences. I’ll be supporting Rob in November 2026. I hope Glouce...
