Letter: Ginger Zarske was ARF’s driving force

We’d like to thank reporter Quinton Sheppard and the Gazette-Journal for the recent article about the Spay/Neuter Clinic, established and overseen for the last 10 years by the Animal Resource Foundation, now transitioning to a program of the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, where it is in good hands.

We did want to clarify one thing. When the three of us joined the ARF organization in 2008 to assist in establishing the Clinic, the ARF Board, led by Ginger Zarske, had already recognized and committed to solving the heartbreaking problem of pet overpopulation by deciding to open a high quality, affordable spay/neuter clinic in our area. Ginger was the driving force in accomplishing that goal, leading a team of many extraordinary individuals, organizations, businesses and donors who shared a vision of a compassionate community where every dog and cat is wanted, loved and cared for.
