Letter: Gillespie for U.S. Senate

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I wish to take serious exception to some political campaign signs claiming that my environs are “Warner Country.” I’m not sure why anyone would want to live in “Warner Country” but let’s take a tour and see what’s going on there.

Oops! Looks like the Justice Department does not deliver justice; the Labor Department does not promote meaningful jobs; the Energy Department thwarts domestic energy production; the Veterans Department does not serve veterans; border protection agencies do not protect borders; the IRS uses its tax-collecting power to thwart U.S. businesses; defense agencies are not allowed to defend; homeland security agencies infringe on U.S. citizens’ privacy rights; the State Department has managed to make the U.S. the world’s greatest weenie. The list goes on. 

And what is Mark Warner doing to make “Warner Country” safer, more productive, more economically viable? He actuall...
