I am writing this as a supplement to the article on Waste Management in the July 21 Gazette-Journal. I applaud editor Charlie Koenig and reporter Bill Nachman for the time, effort and cost required to produce this article. As a result, for the first time to my knowledge, Waste Management has published the latest rules for both the attendants at the collection points and for the people using these sites.
The following information is based entirely on events that involved both my wife and myself. For years, “taking off the trash” was just another repetitive task I did not mind. The people at the collection site were friendly and very helpful. Some attendants were exceptionally helpful and I reported their good efforts to their supervisor.
