Letter: Get to work VDOT

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Many of us who live in Gloucester County stand amazed at the speed of putting up signs and rerouting traffic that occurs with VDOT, but we would like to know when they are going to go to work on the bridge over Fox Mill Run. They seem to do nothing on the bridge when they have had almost four months to go to work.

With a normal work schedule, the bridge itself should have already been removed and some work done, such as driving pilings and replacing the old bridge.

No wonder people are frustrated with VDOT and its snail-pace work schedule. A lot of inspectors, but no one doing anything. What is going on? What gives? Who do we have to push? At this rate it will be 2015 or later before something is done.

If we want to clean up the Chesapeake Bay, then the storm water running down to Fox Mill Run coming from Route 17 and Main Street should be directed and stored somewhere else, as that stream goes to the Ware River and ultimately the bay. We all need to ...
