Letter: Get involved

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I wish this newspaper and our political parties had done more before the Women’s March on Washington, so more of us could have attended. I was unaware until a few days before. What an exciting TV day Jan. 21 was after all the depressing days since our elections.

Now my mind is whirling: What can I as an 83-year-old widow do? I have a home and three pets to take care of. Well, here’s what I plan to do. First I can and will join my local political party, make donations, write letters, make calls, join the ACLU and perhaps the Sierra Club or Green Party, and if anyone is interested, make a three mile (or less) walk in support of the women’s movement.

I can be reached at 804-725-4027. Ladies, and all your family members, please consider getting more involved. We need to commit using our voice, feet, pen, and media to protect ourselves and our freedoms.
