Letter: Generosity appreciated after tornado

On April 16, 2011, our family was uprooted by the tornado that devastated parts of Gloucester County. The tornado left behind destruction, ruin and debris. However, it also sparked overwhelming compassion, kindness and generosity from our family, friends and neighbors. For this, we are extremely grateful.

We have tried to personally thank those who helped us rebuild our lives, but there have been so many and we fear we have not adequately expressed our gratitude.

We hope this letter extends our appreciation to all who came immediately after the tornado with chainsaws, tractors, food, water and those who have offered support and guidance throughout the past year. Gloucester is such an exceptional place to live because of the people who live here. We are fortunate to live in such a caring community.
