Letter: Gazette-Journal should be commended

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

After reading the criticizing letter by Ms. Patty Sheehan on the Battle of the Hook ("Battle of Hook coverage deemed inadequate," Nov. 7 Readers Write), I found it necessary to respond.

I receive and read the following newspapers: the Daily Press, Virginia Gazette, Tidewater Review, Yorktown Crier, Glo-Quips, Chronicle and the Fort Eustis Warrior; one of my favorites is the Gloucester-Mathews Gazette-Journal.

The Gazette-Journal staff should be commended for printing an article criticizing their paper coverage. This shows me their honesty, integrity and loyalty to their readers.

The Gloucester-Mathews Gazette-Journal prints more letters to the editor than all of the other mentioned newspapers put together on a weekly basis.

I look forward to receiving the paper every week.

I consider the Journal to be extremely informative, well written and the staff should be proud of the excellent job they do in providing us readers with a wonderful newspaper.
