Letter: Forrest for school board

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Lorraine Forrest, who is running to retain her seat on the Mathews School Board, is the right choice to help make the county’s public schools even better for its students. A native of Mathews and an alum of its public school system, Lorraine has demonstrated that she can work with school faculty, staff and administrators to provide students a challenging curriculum that offers them more choices and skills in the careers they may choose.

Offering more vocational courses and JROTC are just some of the ways Lorraine sees that Mathews schools can serve all students, not only those planning to attend college. Lorraine is open-minded and a team player who will work with the entire board to provide the resources teachers need to enlighten students and prepare them for the future, whether it’s in Mathews or beyond. Lorraine is passionate about ensuring that the quality of education in Mathews attracts more young families to move to the county.
