I recall when our representatives in Washington voiced their differing views—sometimes arguing them out and then going out to dinner together. What has happened to plain old “good sense”? Folks honored one another, respecting their differences and then doing what was best for the people.
Elections are upon us again. May we vote with our minds and hearts and good sense. Each year, our teachers “do battle” for a pay raise. We lost good teachers this year to other districts over better pay. Lorraine Forrest is for public education and what it takes to properly take care of our students and staff. Many students benefitted from the after-school homework program she started at Antioch Church. Last spring, she came out to support her grandson during the field day event at the elementary school.
