Letter: Forrest for Mathews School Board

As the 2022-23 school year gets underway, I am thinking about all of the people who support students to make this a successful year—family and friends, volunteers, all of the myriad school employees, the community, and especially the school board members.

Last December, Lorraine Forrest was appointed to an empty seat on the Mathews County School Board. She has diligently fulfilled the duties of a school board member participating in training sessions and retreats. Always prepared for school board meetings, she has kept her focus on providing a high quality public education for the students of Mathews County Public Schools.

Since that term is expiring, she is running for election this November. She understands this community well and will be an advocate for students and parents.
