Letter: For Theberge

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Our county government, and yes, our way of life in Gloucester are being threatened. Louise Theberge, is running for the Republican nomination for the at-large seat on the board of supervisors.

Her opponent, a member of the Peninsula Patriots, hopes to unseat Louise because he does not like her stand or support of many of our county programs.

Her opponent believes and says that the county government can only be controlled by commonsense governance. Louise Theberge has provided a balanced and commonsense approach to county government her whole time on the board … has he not been around to pay attention?

Her opponent says the county need only support essential services. Yet, at board meetings his supporters have spoken against donations to the Free Clinic, Woodville Park and our libraries. Louise, a past member of Abingdon Volunteer Rescue Squad, has voted to support these very important quality-of-life services.
