Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I write this letter to encourage Gloucester County citizens to vocalize their support for our schools by emailing the Board of Supervisors and the School Board. The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors won’t make its final decision regarding the budget until April 18. There is still time to voice your opinion and the e-mails to bos@gloucesterva.info and SchoolBoard@gc.k12.va.us will make an impact!

I have been to prior meetings and have spoken in favor of giving Gloucester County teachers a raise. I have done this because I believe teachers are the most important aspect of any school division. I loved so many of my teachers and to this day can still remember every one of them. It amazes me, as I watch my daughter in school, just how much my own teachers shaped me as a student and as an adult. Mrs. Wagner, third grade, read “Superfudge” to my class.
