Letter: For Parker

Although I rarely take time to involve myself in endorsements or electoral politics, it has come to my attention that Anita Parker has a challenger to her seat on the GCPS School Board.

Therefore, I would like to send a message to the citizens of Gloucester in hopes of revealing to them the importance of reelecting Mrs. Parker.

As a teacher who served in GCPS schools for six years and a former division-level teacher of the year in that district, I have closely watched how Anita operates on the GCPS School Board. During that time, two major features of her conduct stand out and characterize her as a public official. The first characteristic worth noting is her love of GCPS schools.

As a longtime resident, and someone who sent her children to GCPS, Anita has shown her devotion to improving the schools and making them the best possible place for students to grow. Undoubtedly, she genuinely believes in the mission of GCPS. Unfortunately, not all candid...
