Letter: For Parker

I am writing to voice my support of Anita Parker’s candidacy for Gloucester School Board for the Petsworth District. I’ve known Anita for almost 25 years. I first met her in 1996 when she was president of the PTA at the school our children attended. My first impression of her was that she was a model of leadership in that role. Since then, I have known her to be a decent, caring, giving, and honorable person and public servant.

Although she is well-known for her service on the school board, most of her other civic involvement is unknown. Anita always volunteers to help and serve in the community when there is a need. She has volunteered at the Daffodil Festival every year for at least ten years that I know of. She serves on the Citizen’s Emergency Response Team and can be found at a local church or agency during every type of emergency, giving her time, talents, and care.
