Editor, Gazette-Journal:
There is a definite difference between the views of the Republican and Democratic candidates running for office this November. The comments made by Democrat Jay Jones who is running for Attorney General of Virginia, the top law enforcement office, should upset everyone. When he advocated for killing State Speaker Todd Gilbert and his children it should have disqualified him to serve in this position. It tells you everything you need to know about his integrity. And the fact that he worked at his own PAC to pay off his community service hours that he was assigned in exchange for serving time is worth questioning. He also supports giving free benefits to illegal aliens and shielding them from deportation. Who wants an Attorney General who thinks he is above the law, and will protect and hide criminals from ICE?
Jason Miyares is the better candidate who is honest and true to his word. Jason is our current Attorney General and has done an excellent job. He is strong on crime and is against no cash bail and has received multiple endorsements from law enforcement groups. He has fought against illegal alien crime which contrasts starkly with Jay Jones. Miyares has also prosecuted violent foreign gangs and partnered with the federal government to deport illegal aliens.
The lieutenant governor choice is easy. John Reid is the common-sense candidate who believes in conservative values. His Democratic opponent, Ghazala Hashmi, voted for taxpayer-funded tuition and driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants and to lower the penalties for criminals who assault police officers and firefighters. She fights for illegals more than Americans.
Vote for transparency, law and order, deportation of illegal alien criminals, no boys in girls’ spaces, and parental rights in their child’s education decisions. Vote for the Republican ticket.
