Letter: For Gibson

My family and I have lived in Gloucester for many generations, and we love our home. However, I believe we need positive leaders who will address real issues, and that’s why I support Ken Gibson for Gloucester Board of Supervisors.

One important issue for us is high-speed internet access. My husband and I live in Petsworth with our two kids, over three miles from any cell phone tower. We have few internet providers, and the only service they offer us is a hotspot with a data plan. Thus, we pay over $300 per month for our phones and “unlimited” data that gets slowed down after we use 15 GB.

Last year, when the pandemic started, I needed to teach from home and finish a class I was taking, while my children attended school virtually. We learned to squeeze every bit out of our Wi-Fi signal and even my cell phone hotspot, but those ran out quickly.
