I am conservative about protecting and improving the important institutions that form the backbone of our country. One of these is public education for all. From what I know, Lorraine Forrest, a current member of, and candidate for, the school board in Mathews County, has the same concerns.
On the other hand, much of what I have heard from her opponent, Mari Gibbs, is about how we should take taxpayers’ dollars designated for public schools and divert them to programs that support private schools.
Private schools are fine, but not at the expense of public schools. I’ve cast my vote for Lorraine Forrest and urge others to do the same.
