Letter: For Altemus

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

As I read Mr. Breckenridge Ingles’ letter (“Remember the history,” Oct. 7 Readers Write), my thought is that memories are short, but not that short. I realized he failed to tell everyone in his letter that Teresa Altemus served 16 years on the board of supervisors and all of the great things she accomplished for the citizens in Gloucester such as: supporting our fire and rescue departments, sheriff’s department, the county and school employees and many other accomplishments. He must have forgotten to tell people how she helped obtain millions of dollars in FEMA funding to help people in Guinea following Isabel.

Mr. Ingles forgot to mention that the former Commonwealth Attorney, Bob Hicks, charged the four Supervisors and later wrote an apology letter admitting that “no crimes were committed.” This is the same Bob Hicks that used to be a law partner at Mr. Ingles’ law firm.
