Letter: For a thoughtful place

I am a resident at Riverside Convalescent Center in Mathews. If you can’t be at home, this is the next best place to be. I have made many new friends here for whom I am thankful. On Wednesday, Nov. 20, when I got up, there was an Advent devotional book from Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church on my table. When I told my friend across the hall, she told me there were several on the table out front and she thought I would enjoy it.

I came from the Gazette-Journal reading and there was a plate of homemade cookies left in my room from Beulah U.M. Church at New Point. My cousin brings me a plate of cookies every year from that church. I hope people know how much we appreciate things like this.
