Editor, Gazette-Journal:
I saw on TV this past week our governor championing for dogs (I didn’t see any cats) to be adopted. She wants people to take one home, care for them and give them a safe place to live.
As I watched, I remembered a few thoughts I recently read in a really Good Book by a famous Author. It’s the chapters called Isaiah 20-22. Here is what the Author wrote: “How horrible it will be for those who call evil good and good evil—who turn darkness into light and light into darkness, who turn bitter into sweet and sweet into bitterness.” (God’s Word)
It seems that for those who like the Book and admire the Author—these people need to re-read His strong words of truth and warning. Even with each new printing, His position on these issues has not changed, even if people have watered down what He says. Or they say “I agree with that, but I want the other issues they stand for.”
A good example is “save the dogs” but “murder your babies.” The other part of that chapter in Isaiah says “That’s why the anger of the Lord burns hot against His people and He is ready to use His power to strike them down even after all His anger has not disappeared and He is ready to use His power.” (GW)
If you think these comments are just my opinion, you can get a copy of His Book and see for yourself what He says about all this. He will be glad to answer any comments or questions you have—unless you really don’t care about His opinion.
