Editor, Gazette-Journal: I felt compelled to write in after listening to the Sept. 1 Gloucester Board of Supervisors’ meeting. First of all, I would like to thank the board for inviting Sheriff Warren in to explain the use of Flock cameras. Sheriff Warren spoke of the policies that he has enforced from the beginning along with the active auditing to prevent misconduct. Sheriff Warren also spoke of how the cameras have been a valuable tool in significantly reducing investigative hours in solving crimes. I see Flock cameras as a positive safety tool to our community as both a deterrent to criminal activity and an assistant to real-time emergencies. Flock cameras can help to expedite the safe return of a runaway or someone suffering from a mental episode. Flock cameras have been proven to substantially reduce investigative overtime hours (tax $$$) in solving crimes.
