Letter: First Bazaar a success

This was the first year for the newly forming Mathews Historical Museum’s Christmas Bazaar. This was a fundraiser for the museum as is May Faire. As chairperson for the event, I would like to thank all of the 20 vendors that attended. They were all of the highest quality. I also thank the shoppers and visitors that attended to make the event successful.

The students of Lee-Jackson and the fifth grade at Thomas Hunter submitted the most beautiful pictures of Christmas trees which were displayed at the site. Thomas Hunter’s first-place winner was Matthew Williams, second place, Kaytlin Ball and third place, Peyton West. Lee-Jackson winners were first place, Carter Hayes, second, Eloise Leslie and third, Mya Schroder.

This event could not have taken place without all of the volunteers at the museum and of course a special thanks to Mrs. Claus who handed out candy canes and gifts to children.
