I’ve read, with appreciation, the summary of all that is being done to keep Mathews County moving in the right direction—the CDBG grants for improvements in the commercial areas of the Court House; the amenities that a park on Put-In Creek could provide to residents and visitors and its benefits to businesses and vendors; the investment in a hoped-for archaeological/architectural survey; flood safety/mitigation efforts; attention to costs and expenditures to ensure the best use of our funds; and more. For all this work, I thank you.

In keeping awith your attention to these good works, please find the money in the county budget to continue to fund the county’s animal control program. The need is there, and we can’t leave this program behind in the wake of our progress toward a community that meets its obligations and ambitions.
