To strengthen our annual giving campaign and ensure that our Y is open to all, regardless of financial ability, the Y held our second annual boxed lunch fundraiser last week, “Lunch with a Purpose.” It was, yet again, a resounding success! First and foremost, thank you to Nelda Gibbs and her team for a delicious lunch.

As soon as the volunteers told people it was Nelda’s chicken, pasta and broccoli salad—SOLD! The first step to a great fundraiser is to have a great product to sell and Nelda’s delectables are always spot on. Thanks also to the many dedicated volunteers who believe in the driving force—the mission, or purpose—who sold, assembled, and delivered lunches. Finally, thanks to everyone who bought a boxed lunch—individuals and local businesses alike. Your generosity demonstrates your commitment to helping those who aren’t looking for a hand out but a hand up.
