Editor, Gazette-Journal: Look at the big picture. Democrats currently have a 6-to-5 ratio over Republicans. Democrats have long controlled our legislature with that margin. Democrats are determined to change the ratio to 10 to 1 for “fairness.” What? Go to the Virginia Department of Elections and look up “Proposed Amendment for April 2026 Special Election.” It’s short, simple and will explain the details. Once this vote occurs, no further changes can be made until 2031 (unless another state does so). As a Democrat, a permanently controlled legislature may seem wonderful. However, during that time, additional laws establishing more liberal voting rights, gun control, soft on deviant criminals, higher taxes and fuel costs, and even more deviant abortion rights will emerge. Many patriotic Democrats are slowly shifting to a more Constitutional governance. A Yes vote on April 21 will end that.
