On behalf of the Fairfield Foundation Board of Directors, we would like to thank the community for their extraordinary support and sponsorship that created another successful fundraising event. This year’s Historic House Party took place on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Timberneck House in Machicomoco State Park, and the weather turned out to be perfect. Nearly 150 attendees toured the c. 1793 landmark, which is in the early stages of restoration. Funds raised are helping support the multi-year restoration of Timberneck by the Fairfield Foundation, as well as the creation of the Fairfield Archaeology Park.
Guests enjoyed wonderful food prepared by Shelly Williams and were entertained with lively music by the Jolly Roving Tars. Guests were able to tour the house to see the ongoing progress of repairs, learn about 19th-century ladies’ accessories and American coin silver, and view exhibits from sites excavated by the Foundation.
