Letter: Enthusiasm, thanks for Book Fair

I would like to thank the Gazette Journal, staff, volunteers and the entire Gloucester-Mathews community for the sponsor and support of “A Day with Words.”

To see such enthusiasm for the written word and receive such a red carpet welcome as a regional writer who has spent many long years pushing the pen in the celebration of life and love in Tidewater was really appreciated. As a matter of fact, I have never felt as appreciated before by this outpouring of community affection and I am sure that I speak for many other hard-working writers in our region when I express this sentiment. Thank you, one and all.

It was also truly heartening to be back in Gloucester County again where my husband, Chip, and I once lived (1968-1975) restoring the old Robert Haywood home in Bena.
