To see such enthusiasm for the written word and receive such a red carpet welcome as a regional writer who has spent many long years pushing the pen in the celebration of life and love in Tidewater was really appreciated. As a matter of fact, I have never felt as appreciated before by this outpouring of community affection and I am sure that I speak for many other hard-working writers in our region when I express this sentiment.
