Letter: Education is most important resource

I was vexed by the report of the county supervisors’ squabble with the school board over funding of our new Page Middle School.

According to Douglas Massey, professor of sociology at Princeton, “education (is) the most important resource in today’s knowledge-based economy.”

Our county supervisors seem stuck in the 20th century, but our children must live in the 21st century, in a knowledge-based society where the level of education is the most reliable predictor of success.

Please, please, supervisors. Come join us in this century and help our children have a better chance of success.
