Editor, Gazette Journal: We own a small marina on Davis Creek and have for the last 19 years. Ten years ago we bought out our partner. Our mission was to make a clean, well-kept marina with hopes of expansion once the channel was dredged. This marina is conveniently located a short distance off the bay which is key for north and southbound cruisers making it an ideal overnight dockage. We used to get requests for overnight dockage, but we can no longer offer this because this creek channel needs dredging! Prior to our ownership, we have been told for more than 22 years “Davis Creek is next on the list.” Now you report “holding pattern, sites for dredge material have yet to be determined.” This is disgusting! We have been led to believe it was pretty much a done deal and now, a holding pattern? Why is this vitally located creek always overlooked and pushed to the rear?
